Project Overview
The City of Blue Ash selected R.E. Warner and Shook Construction to provide design-build services for a new Golf Course Maintenance Facility in Blue Ash, Ohio. The project includes demolition, site and construction phasing, site improvements, a new maintenance building, and an Integrated Pest Management building. The project had a shortened schedule, with the maintenance wings designed and built out of a metal building system and the office portion traditional build.
Demolition involved removing the existing 7,200 s.f. maintenance building, a large greenhouse, and temporary relocation of bulk-material storage bins. Our team coordinated with the owner to minimize the impact on course operations. The contractor also relocated existing maintenance equipment to temporary work areas during construction and provided final relocation to the new building.
The new maintenance building is an approximately 18,000 sf “L” shaped building and includes an insulated Pre-engineered Metal Building (PEMB) structure. The exterior has a more residential aesthetic than industrial. The interior includes offices, break rooms, restrooms, equipment and tool storage, and an equipment maintenance garage. It features a modern, innovative layout that increases workflow efficiency, decreases noise from maintenance activities, and has space for all of the equipment to be stored indoors.
The project also included a new chemical storage building with a covered wash-bay and gasoline pumping station as well as modifications to the existing greenhouse building to accommodate temporary equipment maintenance operations.
The facility also features a wash water recycling system that reuses the same water infinitely.
