Project Overview
Our team is providing electrical engineering services for transmission and distribution substations improvements for a major Ohio electric utility.
Since 2014, the owner has upgraded or replaced existing power lines, incorporated new, smart technology into the grid, and upgraded dozens of substations with new equipment and enhanced security features. These upgrades produced reliability improvements across its transmission system, strengthened its facilities, and better managed maintenance expenses. To allow their customers to continue to receive reliable and safe electrical service and better serve the communities, the utility is continuing these investments through 2021 as part of its multi-billion-dollar transmission capital project portfolio.
Our team's work has been overall related to performing engineering studies, analysis, and/or design in support of transmission engineering planning, protection, design, operations, and/or maintenance of the transmission system.
Our design services are performed in alignment with the owner's engineering and construction standards. Deliverables include completing design documents such as bills of material and manufacturer prints, as well as developing summary reports to document and communicate engineering analysis, results, and recommendations. All drawings are filed in the utility's document management system. We also provide analytical and technical support as needed and if requested, we provide construction support services, such as shop drawing reviews and equipment installation support.
