We are deeply saddened by the passing of Robert “Bob” Ramer, a beloved retiree and former Project Director at R.E. Warner. Bob retired in 2017 after an extraordinary 50-year career with the firm. His legacy of leadership, dedication, and kindness continues to shape our culture and values today.
A Career of Growth and Influence
Bob began his journey with R.E. Warner on June 1, 1967, as an entry-level draftsman while attending Lorain Community College. Over the decades, he advanced to become a shareholder, vice president, and project director ultimately becoming one of the most influential figures in our firm’s history.
He played a pivotal role in expanding our automotive and manufacturing business, helping establish long-standing relationships with major clients such as Honda and Ford. His technical expertise and ability to build trust made him a respected leader both within the firm and across the industry.
A Lasting Artistic Legacy
To honor Bob’s contributions, R.E. Warner recently framed and displayed several of his hand-drawn industrial building sketches throughout our office. These detailed drawings showcase not only his technical skill but also his artistic talent. They now serve as a beautiful and lasting reminder of his legacy.
Service Beyond the Workplace
Bob’s impact extended well beyond project work. He actively supported the engineering profession and the broader community. He was a dedicated member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Moreover, he spent decades mentoring youth through STEM programs, school partnerships, and math competitions.
His commitment to service earned him numerous accolades, including the SAE Distinguished Section Member Award, the chapter’s highest honor.
Remembering the Person Behind the Professional
Outside of his professional achievements, Bob was known for his love of cars, his passion for mentoring, and his genuine care for others. He touched the lives of many through his warmth, generosity, and unwavering support.
