Project Overview
R.E. Warner provided surveying and layout for construction of the Opportunity Corridor in Downtown Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood.
Encompassing nearly 1,000 acres, the 3.5-mile Opportunity Corridor Boulevard runs from East 55th Street at Interstate 490 to East 105th Street in University Circle, the square-mile home to museums, universities, hospitals, restaurants, and parks. In addition to the new roadway, the project also includes pedestrian and multi-use paths, and landscaping.
The goal of the project was to make this area more accessible - it had previously been known as the "forgotten triangle" because of the lack of economic activity. By improving the transportation system, the new boulevard is expected to spur economic development and enhance the quality of life for residents.
