With the arrival of spring comes a plethora of conferences. Over the past few weeks, our staff have traveled to several different industry events throughout the region and beyond to represent the firm and bring back new insights to better our team. Here are short recaps of our recent travels:
AISTech 2017 Four of our metals industry specialists traveled to Nashville to attend sessions and exhibit at AISTech 2017, which took place May 8-11. Attendees included Vice President Frank Johnson, Project Directors Don Salsbury and Ed Dziubek, and Senior Project Manager Matt Benovic. AISTech is one of the preeminent steel industry conferences. The four-day program features 450+ technical presentations, plant tours and keynote presentations showcasing the latest advancements and the various engineering, equipment and process technologies involved in today's steel production. Our team attended technical sessions on a variety of topics as well as exhibited at the tradeshow to showcase R.E. Warner’s wide array of metal production and processing services, notably our engineering and 3D laser tracking and scanning capabilities.
2017 Ohio Stormwater Conference Civil/Survey Department Manager Justin Haselton traveled to the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center located in Sandusky, Ohio for the 2017 Ohio Stormwater Conference, which took place May 10-12. The annual conference is dedicated to advancing the knowledge and understanding of comprehensive stormwater management for those dealing in all aspects of planning, design, implementation and regulatory compliance. Attendees at this year’s conference received updates on environmental issues, new technologies, regulatory information and pollution prevention.
Oswald All Ohio Convocation 2017 Ted Beltavski, President and Matt Barratt, Vice President – Operations traveled to the Columbus region on May 10, 2017 to attend the Oswald All Ohio Convocation at the Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center. This seminar is a risk management program for architects and engineers. Session topics included ideas for improving project delivery, current firm management trends, ethics, and an overview of the 2017 AIA documents changes. The annual conference always proves useful in the continual enhancement of our quality control and project management processes.
